Allergy Shots (Immunotherapy)

1. If allergy shots are recommended and you decide to start allergy shots please call 24 hours prior to first shot to make sure your chart is prepared. No appointment is required, when you arrive just sign in at the front desk. A 72 hour interval is necessary between injection times.
2. YOU MUST WAIT IN THE OFFICE AT LEASE 20 MINUTES AFTER RECEIVING YOUR INJECTION to make certain you do not have an allergic reaction. Should symptoms develop you should inform a staff member immediately so appropriate treatment may be instituted.
PLEASE NOTE, PATIENTS MUST WAIT 45 MINUTES AFTER THEIR FIRST INJECTION.
3. Arms must always be checked by a lab member prior to leaving the office. They must evaluate the injection area to insure no reaction is present (ie swelling, itching etc...) and log all conditions in the chart.
4. No shots are given when a patient is sick with a cold, fever, coughing, chest tightness, wheezing, etc.. If you are concerned about yourself or child please call to schedule an appointment with one of the doctors.
5. If you receive your shots outside of our office, please have your schedule faxed over at least one week prior to your scheduled appointment or treatment restart.
6. Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent of legal guardian. If an adult other than a parent is going to bring the patient please have the parent complete an ROI - Release of lnformation Form to comply with HIPAA Privacy rules.
1. Patients coming for testing should arrive on time. This allows the lab adequate time to perform the appropriate test before seeing the doctor.
If you are having allergy skin testing, please do not use any prescription antihistamines 7 days prior to your testing appointment and over the counter antihistamines 2 days prior to your testing appointment.
If you are having a pulmonary function test (PFT), please bring you areo chamber or inspirease kit.
