What is HIPAA?
HIPPA is an abbreviation for the federal regulations developed under the
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
It requires the practice provide you with its Notice of Privacy Practice document.
What is a Privacy Notice?
The Privacy Notice describes how we may use and disclose your protected health information to carry out treatment, payment or health care operations (TPO) and for other purposes that are permitted or required by law, your rights
to access and control your protected health information, in certain circumstances, and the duties and privacy practicies of this practice.
What is "PHI"?
PHI, "Protected Health Information" is health information created or received by
your health care provider that contains information that may be used to identity
you, such as demographic data. It includes written and oral health information
and payment information that is related to you.
